Account & linking

Your Cyrene account is this website's account. It is what the launcher signs in with, and what carries your status, invite code and linked devices. It is not your in-game account — that one is created in game or at march7th.hoyotoon.com.

Ways to sign up

You can start with any of them and add the others later — see Binding below.

Which of these can create a new account is configurable, so the sign-up page may offer fewer than three. Closing a method never affects sign-in: an account made with it keeps working, and it can still be bound from your profile.

One account per person

Three rules, applied together:

1. One Discord / GitHub account can only ever belong to one Cyrene account.
2. One email address, one account. Signing in with a provider whose verified email already exists attaches that provider to the existing account instead of creating a second one.
3. One sign-up per IP address, inside a cooldown window.

Rule 3 is deliberately blunt and it over-matches: a shared dorm network, a campus connection or CGNAT can put many genuine people behind one address. If you hit it, an invite code bypasses it — ask in Discord and register at /register with the code filled in.

Binding another provider

On your profile page, the Linked accounts card binds and unbinds Discord and GitHub:

• Bind starts a normal OAuth round-trip and attaches the result to the account you are already signed in as.
• Unbind removes it. You can never unbind your last remaining sign-in method — set a password first if you want to drop every provider.
• If the provider account is already bound to a different Cyrene account, the bind is refused. Unbind it there first.

Password

The profile page can set a password on an OAuth-only account, or change an existing one. Passwords need at least 10 characters using two or more of: lowercase, uppercase, digits, symbols.

There is no self-service password reset. If you lose the password and still have Discord or GitHub bound, sign in with that and set a new one from the profile page.
